Our funding opportunities

BioCanRx invites researchers and their teams to participate in its open, rolling research funding call. The open call builds on past and ongoing investments in the area of cancer biotherapeutics and aims to strengthen Canada’s ability to develop this emerging and promising area of cancer research.

As an open call, any eligible research can apply who works at a Canadian institutions eligible to receive funds from the three federal granting agencies: Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC), and Social Sciences and humanities Research Council (SSHRC).

Research projects funded by BioCanRx are evaluated through a rigorous peer review process conducted by our Research Management Committee which includes international academics and Canadian industry experts. Research projects will be selected based on their scientific excellence and their alignment with the network’s collaborative mission.

BioCanRx projects are reviewed through a letter-of-intent (LOI) stage. Following a review by the Research Management Committee (RMC), successful LOI submissions are then invited to submit a full application for review by the RMC. Deadlines are structured around the meeting dates of the RMC.

Potential applicants are encouraged to contact Dr. Kelley Parato to discuss opportunities and receive guidance in the development of their application.

Stay tuned for the deadline announcement for the next round of LOI submissions. For full application details of the opportunity, please see BioCanRx’s application process and instructions page.
