Great lineup planned for HQP attending Summit4CI

BioCanRx is looking forward to hosting HQP at this year’s Summit4CI. From helpful workshops to opportunities to “meet the experts”, there will be quite a few HQP-targeted events and activities designed to maximize learning and career development.

HQP Development Day – This year, the HQP Development Day will take place from 1-5pm on Saturday, October 27, 2018. The day will involve up to two talks by biotechnology leaders, a keynote on Health Technology Assessment and concurrent breakout sessions on four career-related topics. HQP will have the opportunity to attend two different breakout sessions – check out the schedule below! Using Effective Data Graphics to Reveal Trends and Support Decision-making: Data graphics help us discover trends and to explain and support our conclusions, while an understanding of data visualization helps to accurately evaluate the claims of others. Dr. Frank Delaglio will review strategies for creating and improving data graphics, including discussion of examples drawn from immunology research.

Communicating Your Research to the Public: When public support for research is constrained, scientists need to be proactive in sharing their research with the public. Dr. Barbara Vanderhyden will provide useful tips and exercises on how to communicate your research to the public and the media.

An Inner Look at the Life-Sciences Job Market: During this seminar Glenn Lesko will discuss the life science job market, breakdown the subsectors, look at specific roles that are trending and help you better understand what job opportunities exist in the life science/scientific area including research, sales, management and others. Bring your questions for an interactive discussion.

Resume Writing for Different Sectors: All resumes are not created equally, and each sector looks for different types of resumes/CVs. In this workshop, Stephanie Eberle will talk about different tips and tricks for writing resumes that are targeted for positions in different sectors. They will also discuss some general do’s and don’ts for resume/CV writing.
