Kenneth Tam

Director, Strategic Communications and External Relations

Kenneth serves as Director of Strategic Communications and External Relations at BioCanRx, a federally funded research network focused on the development of made-in-Canada immunotherapy treatments for cancer. Prior to joining the network in 2026, he was Assistant Director at the University of Alberta’s $75 million Future Energy Systems research program, where he built an award-winning communications program that mobilized researchers and HQP to share knowledge from more than 200 projects with a cumulative audience of nearly 400,000 individuals. He has previously served in communications roles for the Alberta Land Institute and for a federal Member of Parliament, and as a Balsillie Fellow at the Centre for International Governance Innovation, working for a former Canadian Ambassador. Hailing from Newfoundland, Kenneth holds an MA in history from Wilfrid Laurier University and is an award-winning novelist with extensive experience in the Canadian publishing industry.
